About Don Hansen
Don specializes in Family Litigation, Mediation, and Collaborative Law, serving clients in Sacramento and Placer Counties. His offices are in Gold River, California, with conference offices in Sacramento, Granite Bay and Folsom.
Don is a Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a leading authority on family relations, child development and family stress, and has lectured extensively in the United States, Europe and New Zealand. He holds a PhD in Family Sociology and a PhD in Counseling, as well as a Doctorate in Law.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sacramento County Bar Association, chairman of the Lawyer Referral and Information Service, past co-chair of the Volunteer Pro Bono Mediator at the Sacramento Family Courts and a legislative analyst on the Family Law Executive Subcommittee on family law legislation. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar and the Sacramento County Bar Association.
